6 Ways to Save Time Blogging
Posted on 16. Jan, 2010 by Mary Lutz in Time Savers, WAHM Biz Tips
As a blogger, do you often find it time consuming to come up with good content for your blog on a regular basis? Or do you find it rather time consuming to actually sit down and type out a quality blog post? I know I do. Here are a few of the things I do that help me save time not only coming up with good topics my readers are interested in, but that also help save time creating the actual post.
1. PLR (Private Label Rights): I do use quality PLR every once in a while, if and only if it is on a topic I know my readers want or need. I also add my personal touch and/or opinion to any PLR I use. (Click here if you don’t know what PLR is.) Using quality PLR articles saves time because you don’t have to come up with all of the content for a blog post yourself.
2. Keep a notebook and pen handy at all times to log ideas as you get them. I get ideas for blog post all day, and sometimes in the middle of the night. I’ve forgotten so many of those ideas because I didn’t write them down as they came to me. Now I carry a small notebook in my handbag at all times. I also put it near my computer as I’m working because I often get ideas or see something that sparks an idea for a blog post, but don’t have time write about it at that moment. Then when I do have time, I can look back in the notebook and blog away.
3. Invite others to be a guest blogger. I’m sure there are others out there in the blogosphere whom you admire; ask them to be a guest on your blog. You might even ask them to do a series of posts, say one a week for 4 weeks, or 1 a day for 5 days.
4. Instead of typing out a 400 word blog post, make a video of yourself speaking your ideas to your audience. Speaking is a lot faster than typing, formatting and editing.
5. Do a top 10 list of something useful your readers want or need. Lists are shorter and take a lot less time to think of than typing out a full blog post.
6. Get involved in memes. What are memes, you ask? They are those fun little posts, like Wordless Wednesday, Tackle me Tuesday, Motivation Monday, and so on, that you’ve probably seen around the blogosphere. They will help save time because you won’t have to think up a topic to write about. Now I don’t recommend doing a meme every day of the week, but you can certainly take advantage of them once a week on a regular basis or on an as needed basis.
